I am lucky to be surrounded by a lot of amazing friends. Any time I introduce new people to my groups, they are surprised at how close and loving we can be with each other. Quality time and fun are common sense, that’s what creates friendship. But it got me thinking.

What are the principles we unconsciously all abide by that make our friend group so tight?

Treat your friend group like a sacred (yet independent) circle

Forget about ‘me’, forget about measuring input and output. Treat your friend group like a sacred circle. One where you come in and can be vulnerable because you’ve cultivated an environment of respect and love. One where you can celebrate another’s win, without bringing it back to your situation.

Creating a group that is worthy of showing up for each other does not only lay in the fun, fun is easy to cultivate. Respecting each other, and the ability to selflessly celebrate, hold space, and be vulnerable makes your group of friends special.

Choosing vs needing (the no expectations rule)
